The Coffin of Andy and Leyley is one of those indie horror games that stays with you long after you finish a playthrough. Developed by Nemlei and later published by Kit9 Studio, it follows siblings Andrew and Ashley Graves as they navigate a tense, isolated situation filled with difficult choices and a complicated relationship.
The game is released in episodes. Episode 1, “Home Sweet Home,” introduces the characters and sets the uncomfortable tone. Episode 2, “A Long Way Down,” expands the story, adds new characters, and opens up different narrative routes based on earlier decisions. Episode 3 is still in development, with parts already available in the latest builds.
What makes the game stand out is the writing. The dialogue between Andrew and Ashley feels sharp and layered. Their co-dependent dynamic drives almost every major moment, and the moral choices rarely have clean answers. The horror comes more from the characters and their decisions than from jump scares.
The game runs on RPG Maker and is light on system requirements, so it works well even on modest PCs. Multiple endings exist depending on the path you take, including the widely discussed “Love Route” and other darker conclusions. Players who enjoy story-heavy psychological horror similar to titles like Omori or Angels of Death will probably find something here.
If you’re interested in trying it, the official release is available on Steam. That remains the safest and most reliable way to support the developers and get the latest updates.
The Coffin of Andy and Leyley is unfinished, intense, and deliberately uncomfortable — but the strong character writing and branching story make it a memorable entry in modern indie horror.
